Spring Brush Drop Off—2026 Opening

With assistance from the Superior Watershed Partnership, Chocolay Township Department of Public Works will open an extended brush drop off beginning at 8am on Friday, May 22nd.  Due to the tree damage caused by storms this past winter, the allowable volume limit will be doubled, and the time frame has been extended to better serve Chocolay Township Residents.  Spring brush drop off will conclude Sunday, June 28th at 7pm.

 

Brush Drop Off Rules:  Spring 2026

  • A total volume limit of no more that two level pickup boxes.
  • No larger than 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 8 feet.
  • Brush only accepted during posted date range.
  • Due to extreme danger, brush drop off will be CLOSED while chipping is in progress. DO NOT CROSS BARRICADES, APPROACH WORKERS OR EQUIPMENT DURING THIS TIME.  Cardboard recycling may also be closed to the public during this time.
  • Chocolay Township Residents ONLY. Verification may be requested.

 

Brush ONLY

  • No Stumps
  • No Leaves
  • No Pine Needles
  • No Grass Clippings
  • No Garbage
  • No Recycling

Failure to follow rules may result in fines for littering, loss of brush drop off privileges, or closure of the brush drop off site.
