PUBLIC NOTICE
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF CHOCOLAY
ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #34-26-1
The Chocolay Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Chocolay Township Fire Hall, 5010 US-41 South, Marquette, Michigan to hear public comment on proposed amendments to Chapter VII of the Zoning Ordinance of the Charter Township of Chocolay, regarding Natural Resource Mining. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to regulate mining and natural resource extraction Township-wide and to harmonize those regulations with MCL 125.3205.
A copy of the text of the proposed amendments is available for review and inspection at Chocolay Township Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and can also be viewed on the Township’s website (chocolay.gov).
