Our Department

Chocolay Fire-Rescue was established in 1967 by a group of dedicated volunteers seeking to improve their community, and that spirit continues today. Chocolay Fire-Rescue is staffed by a team of dedicated men and women giving their time and talent to make our community a safe place to live. We are committed to providing professional level service to the people we serve with minimal costs to the taxpayers.

Our Team

Our firefighters complete many hours of training, meeting four times each month. Our training covers fire fighting, vehicle extrication, many types of rescue, HAZMAT operations level and many more areas of life and property preservation. We do all of this on top of our regular employment and family obligations. Our department consists of up to 30 paid-on call members: Chief, Assistant Chief, two Captains, two Lieutenants, and up to 24 Firefighters.
